Adaptive sound-image installation driven by environmental data, 2025

Project Description
Cybernetics of Waterscape explores how our senses and technology affect how we understand changes in climate and water systems. Based on research and interviews in Xizhi, the work combines residents’ memories of floods, details about river bends, pumping stations, and flood-control systems, along with a growing collection of water-related images and sounds, into an essay-like audiovisual piece. Live environmental data from the field and exhibition site continuously alter the arrangement between image, sound, and text, emphasizing feedback as a method to engage with water management and illustrating the connections between governance, infrastructure, and everyday experiences.
